Welcome to Master of Time, a family business in New York City’s bustling Midtown, the world-famous jewelry district.

We were founded in the mid-1980s by Dimitrie and Rita, a husband-and-wife team rapidly gaining a reputation for selling and servicing mechanical watches at a time when the global phenomenon of vintage watch collecting was just beginning to take shape in the United States.

Today, Master of Time’s legacy continues under Dimitrie and his daughter Daniela, who, while pursuing a degree in International Marketing, started working for some of NY’s earliest watch galleries, before continuing as a watch specialist with two leading auction houses.

Since those early days, the watch market has been through countless changes and adjustments in collecting preferences and tastes. Throughout these shifts, however, our focus and approach have remained unaltered, providing the highest level of service and clear guidance to our customers.

Our position within this dynamic field has been strengthened even further by a perfect blend of differing areas of expertise and skills. Dimitrie’s mastery and ingenuity as a watchmaker, vast technical knowledge, and unique museum-grade restoration experience is seamlessly complemented by Daniela’s expertise from her work and collaboration with some of the watch industry’s most influential leaders.
