Cartier, the Maison of refinement and sophistication, is also a master at incorporating sporty design elements in distinct and creative ways. The Santos collection is one such example, having been successfully reinvented many times, over the decades. This bitonal bracelet version, measuring 30mm x 32mm, dates from the 1990’s. The signature octagon form of this series stands out as one of only a handful of watch models that have ever used this shape.

Maritime elements abound, from the porthole-like design of the bezel, to raising the use of contrasting screws to a stand-alone aesthetic element. All coexist harmoniously with some of Cartier’s most famous details, such as the elegant Roman numerals and sapphire set winding crown.

The self-winding movement, featuring a quick-set date and a KIF anti-shock device, is well protected by the water-resistant case construction and scratchproof glass.
