Longines Conquest Calendar
Automatic, Cal. 291
circa 1965

$795.00

The venerable Longines brand currently offers some of the best values for vintage watch collectors. Its Conquest collection, launched in 1954, soon became one of Longines’ most enduring lines thanks to its versatility and timekeeping quality. Swiss ads of the time praised it as a “robust, precise, and elegant watch that does not age.”

The Conquest’s tool watch features such as muscular proportions, broad lugs, and threaded back are offset by elegant gold hour indicators, matching Dauphine hands, and a gold frame around the date window. A gorgeous 14k gold medallion with champlevé green enamel adorns the case back, adding even more visual appeal.

The original dial and its beautiful micro sunburst pattern are in good condition with only minor signs of aging. These strong exterior attributes are backed by a shock-proof movement Cal. 291with automatic winding, sweep seconds, and 24 jewels.

The 34mm case diameter and larger profile suit most wrist sizes well. With its versatility, this Mid-Century classic looks equally great whether at work or on the weekend.
