Tissot Chronograph
Bombé Lugs
Pulsation Scale
circa 1949

SOLD

This classic 1940’s chronograph with superbly shaped bombé lugs is rarely seen, especially in this condition. Those special lugs and clear lay-out of the dial might well have been the reasons why Tissot chose this model as basis for their modern Heritage 1948 Chronograph, unveiled at the 2017 Basel Watch Fair.

The less common medical pulsation scale of this example, well preserved in contrasting blue, echoes the color of the blued steel hands. The intriguing teardrop hour indicators of the dial add another element to the list of less common characteristics of this watch.

The fine edges and surfaces of the 14k gold case are very well preserved. The three chronograph registers include a 30-minute counter, one for 12 hours, and another for constant seconds.

At 36mm, this chronograph gets noticed, feeling very comfortable on the wrist. Under its hood beats the celebrated Lemania caliber C27-41H, also found in several of Omega’s later chronographs, as cal. 321.
