Lord Elgin
Asymmetric Case
14k Rose Gold
circa 1940

SOLD

The quality of Lord Elgin wristwatches was indeed worthy of nobility, as every model featured Elgin’s highest-grade movements with 21 jewels and impeccable finishing.

This 14k pink gold model is Elgin’s earliest version of only a handful of asymmetrically shaped designs, from the line’s many designs that were introduced over several decades.

When viewed from the side, the sinuous curves of the case resemble an unfolding scroll.

The richness of the rose gold is reinforced by the hue of the copper-colored dial. The silvered railroad style minute track, the black Roman numerals, and blued steel hands serve as contrasts to the tone-on-tone quality of the watch.

The case dimensions are 36mm x 20mm. The 21-jewel movement, cal. 538, is signed Elgin USA.
